Noushin - the 86th woman executed under Rouhani
It is the day before Christmas 2018, and while the rest
of the world is preparing to celebrate Christmas day, somewhere in a town in Iran,
a family is mourning the barbaric execution of a daughter, a sister, a mother, known
only as Noushin.
Noushin was hanged by the Iran regime for
defending herself and her dignity.
She was only 25 years old.
Noushin was convicted of murdering a
man, Soheil, who had promised to marry her, but took advantage of her, and
subsequently brutalized, blackmailed and forced her into having sexual
relations with his friends. She did this for a month before she
decided to stop this situation by killing the man who was forcing her to do so.
Noushin is the 86th woman
to be executed during Rouhani’s tenure.
At least a dozen other women is on death row at the moment in Qarchak
Prison in Varamin for acting in
self-defence against violence.
A similar situation exists in other
prisons across Iran where many of the women convicted of murder have acted in
self-defence in the face of violence directed against them.
