Abduction of Mr. Hashem Khastar, 65 years old cultural activist and experienced teacher from Iran

25 October 2018

The High Commissioner for Human Rights
United Nations
Geneva – Switzerland
The Honourable Michelle Bachelot

Abduction of Mr. Hashem Khastar, 65 years old cultural activist and experienced teacher from Iran

Honourable High Commissioner,

On behalf of FAAVM (http://www.afpmv-faavm.org/), the Stes de Necker Foundation
(http://stesdeneckerfoundation.blogspot.com/), and the Iranian people, we request your urgent and concerted action regarding the abovementioned.

Mr. Hashem Khastar, well known teacher and peace activist, disappeared under suspicious circumstances after leaving his home on Tuesday 23 October 2018.

His wife, Ms. Sadiqah Maleki Fard, believes that he was abducted by the Iranian security forces for expressing his views on the Iranian situation.

Mr. Khaster was on his way to Gulbahar City in Mashhad, when he was abducted on route to Gulbahar.

According to the latest information received by his family, he was taken by the Government Forces to the Psychiatric Unit of the Ibn Sina Hospital in Mashhad where he is refused any visits by his family.

Dear Commissioner, while we enjoy our democratic freedoms and the love and presence of our loved ones, the Iranian people continue to suffer under the most terrible and inhumane conditions in Iran.

On 27 September 2018, I wrote to you about the Iran’s Regime Human Rights Violations and Terrorist Activities.

To this date the oppressive clerical regime in Iran continues with their gross violations of International Human Rights, unabatedly.

Together FAAVM and the Stes de Necker Foundation represent well over 3 million members from across the globe that are deeply concerned about the human rights situation in Iran.

Your intervention and assistance of the entire United Nations is requested as a matter of great urgency.

The time to act and to restore a democratic and free Iran, free from the shackles of an oppressive and draconic theocratic government, is NOW.

Kindest Regards

SI de Necker
International Diplomatic Ambassador
